President Yang Wanming warmly welcomed Frei on his 21st visit to China. He fondly recalled and sincerely thanked Frei for the strong support he provided to the embassy while Yang was serving as China's Ambassador to Chile. President Yang noted that over the past 55 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Chile, thanks to the care and guidance of successive leaders and the dedication of people from all walks of life, China-Chile relations have transcended government changes and weathered international vicissitudes, becoming a model of solidarity and cooperation among developing countries. President Xi Jinping has met with President Boric four times, and both sides have agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and at all levels, uphold the principles of mutual respect, trust, benefit, and connectivity, and continuously enrich the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the new era.

President Yang noted that the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, adopted at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, demonstrates China's commitment to sharing cooperation opportunities and a prosperous future globally. The CPAFFC attaches great importance to the people-to-people and subnational friendly cooperation relations between China and Chile. It stands ready to work closely with various sectors in Chile to transform the traditional friendship between the two countries into tangible benefits for both peoples.

Frei stated that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 1970, China has become Chile's largest trading partner, and cooperation between the two sides has benefited the two peoples. Chile and China enjoy strong economic complementarity and share many common interests. In the context of profound changes in the global landscape, Chile stands ready to continue expanding cooperation with China in areas such as trade, investment, innovation and entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence to deliver more practical outcomes and advance high-quality development in Chile-China relations.

Deng Lan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs of the CPAFFC, also attended the meeting.
