Vice President Xie Yuan Meets Brazilian Media Delegation
On Oct. 14th, Vice President Xie Yuan met and made in-depth exchanges on CPAFFC’s work and China-Brazil people-to-people contacts, with the Brazilian Media Delegation which was visiting China at the CPAFFC’s invitation.? Mr. Claudio Garon, the Minister Counselor of the Brazilian Embassy in China was present at the meeting.
Vice President Xie Yuan said, the bilateral relations had been developing smoothly since China and Brazil established diplomatic relations 39 years ago and the high-level exchanges between the two countries were frequent. In 2012, the two countries established overall strategic partnership relation. At the same time of the flouring of official diplomacy, the people-to-people friendly exchanges were also increasing. Mr. Danillo Santos, President of Brazil-China Friendship Association, who visited China and received CPAFFC delegations many times, made abundant works in promoting establishment of China-Brazil friendship cities and deepening exchanges between the two peoples. In August of 2012, the establishment of Brazil-China Friendship Association in Sao Paulo brought new blood into the cause of people-to-people friendship.
Vice President Xie Yuan also expressed that, China and Brazil were both BRIC countries, and had coordinated closely in culture exchanges and multilateral cooperation. The medium between the two countries also contacted more frequently, by setting up office in each other’s country. The CPAFFC would like to take friendship city as a platform to actively promote the exchanges for the Chinese and Brazilian local governments in various fields.

The Fifth Meeting of the China-Vietnam People’s Forum Held in Vietnam
Organized by the CPAFFC, China-Vietnam Friendship Association, Vietnam-China Friendship Association and Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), the Fifth Meeting of the China-Vietnam People’s Forum was held in Ninh Bình Province of Vietnam from 11-13 October 2013. Chinese and Vietnam delegates from political, economic, academic and media sectors attended the meeting.? The Chinese delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Qi Jianguo, Vice President of China-Vietnam Friendship Association and former Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam. The Vietnam delegation was led by Mr. Pham Van Chuong, former Executive Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee Commission for External Relations and Vice-President of Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation.?

H.E. Mr.?Nguyen?Thien?Nhan, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, met with Chinese and Vietnam delegates on 14 October 2013. While expressing welcome to the delegates, he highly appreciated the results of the Fifth Meeting of the China-Vietnam People’s Forum. He reiterated the firm resolute of the Party, Government and people of Vietnam to constantly consolidate and develop the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative?partnership under the guidance of the principle of long-term stability, future-orientation, good-neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation and the spirit of "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners", which were proposed by state leaders of Vietnam and China. Nguyen?Thien?Nhan also expressed hope that non-governmental organizations and people of all sectors of the two countries would make more innovative endeavors for the benefits and interests of the two nations as well as the peace, stability and prosperity of the world, and to push forward all kinds of exchange activities, in a bid to make further contributions to enhancing mutual understanding, trust and friendship ties between Vietnam and China.
The theme of the Fifth Meeting of f the China-Vietnam People’s Forum was “Enhancing Political Mutual Trust and Promote Pragmatic Cooperation”. Delegates had in-depth exchange of ideas on the significance and importance of the development of China-Vietnam relations in a friendly, open, candid and trusted atmosphere.? Delegates held the view that that much had been achieved in deepening the bilateral relations and peoples’ mutual trust by frequent exchanges of visits of state leaders and the signing of series of agreements. Delegates also expressed hope that the maritime, onshore and financial cooperation be pushed forward in parallel between the two countries and that the two sides take a new way of thinking in seeking for the resolution of maritime disputes, making new contributions for the healthy development of bilateral relations and the peace, stability and prosperity of the region by turning the sea of disputes into a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation.

CPPCC Vice President Han Qide Meets D.P.R. Korea Freinds

On the morning of October 11, CPPCC Vice President Mr. Han Qide met with Mr. Kim Jin Bom, Vice Chairperson of the Committee for Foreign Culture Relations of D.P.R. Korea, who visited China for the celebration of the 55th anniversary of the foundation of the China-D.P.R. Korea Friendship Association and the D.P.R. Korea-China Friendship Association at the invitation of CPAFFC. Mr. Li Xiqui, Secretary-General of CPAFFC and Mr. Pak Myong Ho, Charge de''''affair of D.P.R. Korea Embassy attended the meeting.
Mr. Han Qide expressed his warm welcome to the delegation. He said that the China-D.P.R. Korea traditional friendship had already been rooted to the heart of the two peoples and hoped that the two? associations could contributed more to the development of friendship of the two countries.
Mr. Kim Jin Bom thanked Mr. Han Qide for his meeting and expressed his congratulations for China''''s achievements since reform and opening-up. He said that D.P.R. Korea hopes to cooperate with China to make more efforts for the promotion of traditional friendship and the strengthening practical cooperation.

Chinese Youth Delegation Attends International Youth Peace Festival in India
At the invitation of Yuvsatta, Punjab, the CPAFFC sent a delegation of 15 members to visit India during 24th September and 4th October this year to attend the 8th International Youth Peace Festival in Chandigarh. The delegates, mainly from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technolog exchanged ideas and conducted joint activities with around 250 youth from 24 countries, including India, USA, Bhutan, Brazil, etc. This is a third delegation of this kind organized by the CPAFFC.
During the Peace Fest, the host organized “China Day Evening” on the night of 1st October to celebrate the Chinese National Day, in which, youth from all participating countries gave wonderful cultural performances. The Peking Opera and a Medley of Chinese and Foreign songs brought the evening to its climax and won a great round of applause. The Friends of China Association, Chandigarh also hosted a wonderful get-together in honor of the Chinese Youth Delegation, as well as for the celebration of the Chinese National Day.
For most members of the delegation, this is the first visit to India. Thanks to the thoughtful arrangements of homestay by the Friends of China Association, one of the most important counterparts of the CPAFFC in India, the delegates experienced the real everyday life of the local Indians, and developed very sincere and deep friendship with our host families.
4th Sino-European Agricultural Seminar Convened in Yinchuan
The 4th Sino-European Agricultural Seminar was convened from September 25th to 27th,? in Yinchuan, the capital city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The meeting was jointly hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the China-EU Association,?Madame Wuyun Qimuge, President of the China-EU Association, Mr. Qu Dongyu, Vice President of the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Mr. Li Jianping, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Madame Liu Shu, Former Vice President of the China Association of Science and Technology attended the opening ceremony. Some 160 guests from 7 European countries including UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Romania, as well as from 6 Chinese western provinces and regions attended this seminar.
The theme of this seminar is “Sustainable Development of Agriculture and Building Agricultural Products Safety Management Systems”. The participants had broad and in-depth discussion on new models in the field of sustainable and intensified development of agriculture and agricultural products safety management systems. European participants had on-site visits of local agricultural projects and formed many preliminary intents for cooperation with Chinese institutes and companies through a match-making session. The conclusive paper --Ningxia Declaration and Guideline for Action were declared at the closing ceremony.
Vice President Xie Yuan Meets New Grenada Ambassador to China
Xie Yuan, the vice president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with H.E. Mr. Karl Hood, the New Grenada ambassador to China on September,17,2013.
Vice President Xie welcomed Ambassador Hood to China to take his new post, and introduced the main work of CPAFFC and 4th China Latin American and Caribbean Region People-to-people Friendship Forum recently held in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. He hoped that the two countries would strengthen the communication and promote the cooperation in exchanges of culture and students.
Ambassador Hood thanked vice president Xie for meeting him from his tight schedule. He said Grenada attached great importance to the relationship with China. The Embassy of Grenada in China hoped to strengthen the communication with CPAFFC, so as to jointly hold activities which could enhance the mutual understanding between the people of the two countries in the future.
Reception Celebrating 40th Anniversary of Establishment of China-Spain Diplomatic Relations Held in Beijing
In the evening of Sept. 12th, a reception celebrating 40th anniversary of establishment of China-Spain diplomatic relations was held in the CPAFFC. Mr. Ji Bingxuan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People''s Congress (NPC), Mme. Uyunqimg, the former? Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of NPC and the Chinese Chairperson of China-Spain Forum, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the CPAFFC, Mr. Xie Hangsheng, the vice foreign minister of China, Mr. Liu lihua, the vice minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Mr. Jose Manuel Soria, the Spanish minister of industry, energy and tourism, Mr. Pedro Solbes Mira, the Spanish Chairman of China-Spain Forum and former vice prime minister of Spain, Mr. Gonzalo De Benito Secades, the first vice? foreign minister of Spain and Mr. Manuel Valencia Alonso, the Spanish Ambassador to China were present.
President Li Xiaolin spoke highly of China-Spain relation in her address. She said, since the two countries established all-around strategic partnership relation in 2005, the cooperation of the both sides had been more mature, steady and forceful. By the time of 40th anniversary of the establishment of China-Spain diplomatic relations and 10th anniversary of China-Spain Forum, the 7th session of the forum was held today. The personages of all circles from the two countries developed in-depth discussions and provided suggestions on the pragmatic cooperation of the two countries at the session, which had achieved important results.
At the reception, President Li Xiaolin exchanged first day covers of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Spanish side.
More than 400 guests from the two countries were present at the event.
Vice President Feng Zuoku Meets Minister of Information of Yemen
Feng Zuoku, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met Ali Al Amrani, the Minister of Information and the head of Yemen-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, and his delegation which was invited by the Information office of State Council of the People’s Republic of China.on September 11, 2013.?
Vice president Feng Zuoku reviewed the friendly exchanges between the people of two countries and briefly introduced the CPAFFC, the mechanism of China-Arab Friendship Conference and the situation of the first forum on China-Arab cities which will be held next year in China.

Minister Ali Al Amrani spoke highly of the traditional friendship among China, Yemen and Arabic countries. He thanked China for the continual help to Yemen, especially in highway, hospital, universities and other construction of infrastructure. He expressed that China?was different from western countries which had conflicts with Arabic countries. China had kept friendly relationship with Arabic countries since the ancient times. Prophet Muhammad said that people should come to China to acquired knowledge. Minister Ali Al Amrani also hoped that more and more students from Yemen would study in China in the new period, so as to strengthen and consolidate Yemen-China relationship. The President of the Yemen-China Friendship Association and the former Yemen Ambassador to China studied in China, they could all speak Chinese and learn about China very well, which set up a good example for us.
Minister Ali Al Amrani pointed out that the Chinese people achieved great development and started a special development model by their wisdom, which demonstrated the eastern countries were capable of achieving development without colonial way. He also said Arab and China were eastern countries, but the Chinese people never treated Arabic countries with religious and racial discrimination. The experience of the China''s development was worth learning by Yemen and Arabic Countries.
ROK Young Friendship Envoys Delegation Visited China
At the invitation of the CPAFFC, Mr. Han Younghee, Vice President of the Korean Foundation, led a 120-member delegation of the Republic of Korea Young Friendship Envoys and paid a visit to China from 29 August to 6 September 2013.? The delegation consisted of students from around 50 universities and middle schools in Korea.? During the visit to Beijing, Guizhou Province and Zhejiang Province, the young delegates understood more about China’s history and culture and attended joint activities with Chinese students.? Mr. Feng Zuoku (Vice President of CPAFFC), Ms. Chen Guode (Executive Vice President of Guizhou Provincial People’s Friendship Association) and Mr. Ruan Zhongxun (Executive Vice President of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Friendship Association) respectively hosted welcome banquets for the ROK delegation.
Korean students lived together with Chinese students in Guizhou Forerunner College and participated in Chinese cultural and sports programs. In Zhejiang, the Korean delegation learned Chinese calligraphy and folk craftsmanship in Shaoxing Unviersity and Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages.
The visit exchange program of China and ROK young friendship envoys was initiated by the CPAFFC and the Korean Foundation in 2009. About 2000 students from both countries have participate in the exchange of visits up to now.
