Delegation of Chinese Middle School Student attends Turkey Space Summer Camp
?At the invitation of Turkey Space Summer Camp, CPAFFC sent 20 middle school student from Nanya Middle School of Changsha City, Hunan Province to Izmir, Turkey and attended the Space Summer Camp there from August 3-11, 2014.?

?During the camp, the Chinese students attended many kinds of cultural and sports activities together with other 100 students from Turkey, Russia, Israel and Palestine. The Chinese students learned more knowledge of the space, practised their English and improved their ability of self-independence and cooperating with others. They also showed the Chinese culture through their singing and dancing and make international friends during the whole camp.

Vice President Feng Zuoku Meets with Newly-Appointed Director of Korea Foundation Beijing Office
Vice President Feng Zuoku met with Mr. Song Jungsok, newly-appointed Director of Korea Foundation (KF) Beijing Office on August 5th , 2014.
Mr. Feng expressed welcome to Mr. Song for his assumption of the new post in China and highly appreciated the youth exchange program jointly held by CPAFFC and KF in past years. Mr. Feng hoped that these activities achieve more success in the future, consolidating the basis of public opinion for China-ROK friendship.
Mr. Song said that the state leaders of Korea and China attach importance to bilateral relations, which provides opportunity for the promotion of people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Korea Foundation is willing to enhance its cooperation with CPAFFC for carrying out more activities.
2nd China-ASEAN Youth Cultural Exchange Festival held in Beijing and Kangbao county of Hebei province
The CPAFFC, together with the China National Committee for the Care of Children (CNCCC), hosted the 2nd China-ASEAN Youth Cultural Exchange Festival (CAYCEF) in Beijing and Kangbao county of Hebei province from July 29th to August 4th , 2014. Altogether 300 young delegates participated in the this year’s CAYCEF from 5 provinces or cities in the Chinese mainland and Taiwan as well as from 10 ASEAN countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
H.E. Mme Gu Xiulian (President of China-ASEAN Association and Director of CNCCC), Mr. Feng Zuoku (Vice President of CPAFFC), Mrs. Liu Yazhi, Mr. Zu Shuqin(Executive Deputy Directors of CNCCC), H.E. Mr.U Thit Linn Ohn (Ambassador of Myanmar to China), H.E. Mr. Somdy Bounkhoum (Ambassador of the Laos to China), H.E. Mme. Erlinda Basilio (Ambassador of the Philippines to China) and other Chinese and international guests attended the major events of the Festival.
As one of the celebration activities of 2014 ASEAN-China Cultural Exchange Year, the main program of the 2nd CAYCEF includes the followings: 1.The delegates visited the Kangbao county which was located in the grassland and attended the activities of Mini sports games, kite-making and flying, paper-cutting and oat food making.2. The participants visited the Tian’anmen square, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall, the National Stadium(Bird Nest), the National Aquatics Center(Water Cute) respectively. 3. The youth delegates made and signed the Kangbanoel Declaration which matched the theme of this year’s CAYCEF “Sharing the Culture,creating the future”. On the opening and closing ceremonies and especially the gala night of the Festival, the youngsters conducted series of colorful performances with their national traditions and ethnic features and exchanged their ideas and thoughts as well.
This year’s festival further the understanding, respect and love to the traditional cultures between the youth of China and ASEAN countries, promoted the mutual affection and learning and injected young vigor to the cooperation, prosperity and development of the regional culture and people-to-people friendship in ASEAN and China.
The Press Conference of the 2nd CALGC Forum Held in Beijing
The press conference of the 2nd CALGC Forum hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) was held on 1 August in Beijing. CPAFFC Vice President Feng Zuoku, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Radio International Ma Weigong, and several African diplomats attended the press conference.
Vice President Feng Zuoku briefed on the preparations of the 2nd CALGC Forum. He said, it is estimated that around 1500 people will participate in the Forum. More than 700 Chinese delegates from 61 cities of 22 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, have confirmed their participation. President of Guinea, president of Ghana and president of Somalia will attend the Forum. So far, around 200 delegates from 32 African countries have confirmed their participation, including 6 ministers and 39 governors and mayors.
Vice President said, the leaders of provincial or municipal governments and entrepreneurs of China and Africa will further exchange opinions on the practical cooperation in fields of energy, finance, commerce and trade, as well as infrastructure construction. The CPAFFC will endeavor to make the forum serve as a practical platform for China-Africa local government cooperation, extending China-Africa friendship to the grassroots and people, and laying a more solid foundation for China-Africa friendship.
Vice President Xie Yuan Meets with President of Asia Pacific Market of Mary Kay
On July 30th, Vice President Xie Yuan met with Mr. K. K. Chua, President of Asia Pacific Market of Mary Kay, USA. Xie introduced the history of CPAFFC, and the celebration events of the association’s 60th anniversary held not long ago. Chua briefed about Mary Kay’s business development in China, and expressed the willingness to support, participate in the people-to-people friendship work of CPAFFC and promote mutual understanding between China and the United States.
4th Meeting of Standing Council of 5th Council of China-Russia Friendship Association Held in Beijing
The 4th Meeting of Standing Council of the 5th Council of? China-Russia Friendship Association (CRFA) was held in Peace Palace of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) on July 29th, 2014.
Including Mr. Chen Yuan, Vice-Chairman of National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and President of CRFA, Mme. Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC, Liu Limin, Vice-Minister of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and Vice-President of CRFA, the leaders, executive council members and advisers of CRFA , over 50 participants attended the conference.
At the meeting, new vice-president and executive council members and council members were elected. The representatives had an in-depth discussion on the people-to-people friendly contacts with Russia in the period ahead.
Friends of China Society (India) Delegation Visits China
At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Dr. Nathu Singh, Senior Adviser of Friends of China Society (FCS), India, Vice President of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), as well as Former Member of Parliament, led a 6-member FCS delegation to visit Beijing, and Jiangxi Province from 21st to 27th July, 2014.
During their visit in China, Vice President Mr. Hu Sishe of the CPAFFC, and Vice Governor Madam Xie Ru of the Jiangxi People’s Government met with the delegation respectively. The delegation also made a courtesy call on? the International Department of the Communist Party of China, and paid a visit to the Jiangxi Jianglian International Engineering Co,. LTD
The delegates reckoned that this visit had deepened their understanding about China, and they look forward to a closer cooperation with the CPAFFC for promotion of exchanges between the localities from India and China.
Turkish-Chinese Friendship Association Delegation Visits China
At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC),Mr. Kemal Baytas, chairman of? Turkish-Chinese Friendship Association, led a 9-member delegation to Beijing, Xiamen, Sanya and Guangzhou from 19th to 26th July, 2014.
During their visit in China, Vice President Feng Zuoku of CPAFFC met with the delegation, he said chairman Kemal Baytas was committed to the people-to-people friendship between China and Turkey, and has organized many celebrities in various fields, such as politics, business, culture, education, media and so on,and through his organization, many Turkish visitors became friends of CPAFFC. He hopes the delegation could take this opportunity to better know about China, and enhance our traditional friendship. Chairman Kemal Baytas said that Turkish-Chinese Friendship Association and CPAFFC has been keeping close relationship for many years. Turkish-Chinese Friendship Association once organized professors from? Ankara University, Gazi University and Hacettepe University. After their trips in China, they set up Chinese language major in their universities and also published books introducing China. Along with the tight ties between our two nations, broad exchanges have been conducted in various fields, for example, the high-speed train project, with the participation by Chinese companies, connecting between Ankara and Istanbul was completed in July 25th this year.
Delegation also made courtesy calls on Sanya Municipal People’s Government, Xiamen People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, discussed about the establishment of sister provinces and cities, as well as trades promotion between two countries.
Photo Exhibition "Salute to Friendship-Images Narrate China-U.S. Collaboration during World War II" Launched at Richard Nixon Presidential Library
On July 23rd, 2014, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held the opening ceremony and the reception of the photo exhibition "Salute to Friendship-Images Narrate China-U.S. Collaboration during World War II" at Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California. Around 100 people attended the reception, including Mme. Li Xiaolin, CPAFFC President, Mr. Liu Jian, Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles, Mr. Michael Antonovich, Los Angeles County Supervisor, Mr. Bill Baribault, Nixon Foundation President, Mr. Christopher Cox, President Nixon’s grandson, Mrs. Elinor Beneda and Mr. Edward Beneda, widow and son of former Flying Tigers pilot - Mr. Glen Beneda, as well as friends in the great Los Angeles area.
In her speech, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin said the historical photos exhibited this time were taken by the American soldiers who were in China during World War II. The photos have vividly recorded the history over 70 years ago, and reflected the sincere friendship of mutual support and of fighting shoulder to shoulder between the Chinese and American people during World War II. Through the mirror of history, the audience could see that the love of peace, the opposition to war and the pursuit of happiness are the shared conviction of people around the world. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of China-U.S. diplomatic relations, and when the 70th anniversary of World Anti-Facist War is approaching, she hoped that the people of the two countries would remember the history of China-U.S. friendly relations and pass on the spirit of China-U.S. friendship to future generations, so as to make joint contribution to the building of the new type of major country relations between China and the United States. Li also praised the active role and long-time efforts of the Nixon Foundation in enhancing China-U.S. friendship and promoting people-to-people exchanges between our two countries.
President Nixon’s grandon, Mr. Christopher Cox expressed his gratitudes for the long-time support to the Nixon Foundation from President Li Xiaolin and CPAFFC. He emphasized that President Nixon once said, the stability and prosperity of China would benefit the U.S. and the world at large. He hoped that China-U.S. friendship would thrive like the redwood planted in Hangzhou by President Nixon.
The 4th Beijing Cup International Schools Football Tournament Opened
On July 23, the 4th Beijing Cup International Schools Football Tournament, jointly held by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Chinese Schools Football Association, came with a good kick-off in the Sangao Training Base of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China.
Vice President Xie Yuan of CPAFFC, Vice District Director Fu Shouqing of Haidian District, and Vice Principal Zhai Xiaoning of High School Affiliated to RUC addressed the opening ceremony. Director Guo Jianjun of Youth Department of General Administration of Sport of China, Minister Counsellor Kim Jingon of Korean Embassy, Counsellor Ishitobi Takashi of Japanese Embassy and representatives from Indonesian Embassy attended the ceremony.
Football as a popular universal sport gains the attention of many leaders around the world, the promising future of which relies on the youth. In his speech, Mr.Xie Yuan sincerely encouraged the young players to ?display their sportsmanship and achieve good scores on court during the tournament, and he also encouraged more personages and organizations to support the development of youth football.
With the aims of promoting the development of Chinese schools football games and establishing a high-level competition and exchange platform for youth players both home and abroad, the Beijing Cup has successfully organized three tournaments since 2010. Seven international teams including F.C.Blagoveshensk from Russia, New Jersey All Stars for the U.S., Korea High School Football League and Jakarta Selection from Indonesia, as well as thirteen Chinese teams from Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Hunan, Shandong, Henan and other provinces participated this year’s tournament.
