On December 2, 2025, President Yang Wanming of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with Michelle Bachelet, former President of Chile and Vice President of World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid, on the sidelines of the 2025 Imperial Springs International Forum in Guangzhou.

President Yang Wanming extended a warm welcome to Michelle Bachelet's participation in the Forum and noted that, against a backdrop of growing complexity and uncertainty in the international landscape, multilateralism is facing increasing challenges and erosion, making it more difficult for countries to reach consensus. As the world commemorates the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the founding of the United Nations, the international community should cherish the hard-won and effective post-war international order, further strengthen the authority of the United Nations and the binding force of its decisions, and remain clear-eyed about the fact that attempts at "decoupling and severing supply chains" are neither workable nor sustainable. He called on all parties to take concrete actions to jointly address the common risks and challenges confronting countries worldwide. President Yang Wanming emphasized that China will continue to advance high-quality development through high-standard opening-up, create broad opportunities for shared development for all countries through Chinese modernization, and remain firmly committed to promoting the noble cause of peace and development.
Michelle Bachelet spoke positively of the exchanges and cooperation between the CPAFFC and the World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid, noting that the Imperial Springs International Forum has served as an important platform for deepening consensus on multilateralism and enhancing understanding of China's policies and positions. In the current global context, there is an urgent need for countries to strengthen dialogue and cooperation, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and fully leverage the constructive role of the United Nations in international affairs, in order to jointly uphold multilateralism.
CPAFFC Vice President Shen Xin and Deputy Secretary-General Ji Yongjun were present at the meeting.
