On November 24, 2025, Yang Wanming, President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Farhod Arziev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Uzbekistan relations and people-to-people friendship and exchanges between the two countries.

President Yang Wanming welcomed Ambassador Arziev to the CPAFFC again and commended that Uzbekistan is China's like-minded neighbor and reliable partner. Last year, the two heads of state agreed to elevate the China-Uzbekistan relationship to an All-Weather Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the New Era and build a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future from an elevated starting point. Last June, President Xi Jinping met with President Mirziyoyev during the Second China-Central Asia Summit in Astana. Later in September, President Mirziyoyev visited China to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and the activities commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China and Uzbekistan have consistently followed development paths suited to their respective national conditions, firmly supported each other on issues concerning the core interests, and maintained close coordination within frameworks such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the China-Central Asia Mechanism. Together, the two countries are committed to safeguarding true multilateralism and promoting the common values of humanity, making significant contribution to maintaining regional peace and stability and promoting regional prosperity and development.

President Yang said that not long ago, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee reviewed and adopted the recommendations for formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan, which sets forth a clear blueprint for China's development over the next five years and beyond. China is ready to share development opportunities with Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries. The CPAFFC attaches great importance to conducting friendly exchanges with Uzbekistan and looks forward to further strengthening communication with the Uzbek Embassy in China and Uzbek partners in the future on such endeavors as subnational cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship, thereby contributing to building a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.

Ambassador Arziev offered congratulations on the successful Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and stated that China's Recommendations for the 15th Five-Year Plan dovetails well with the "Uzbekistan-2030" development strategy, offering tremendous opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China. The frequent interactions between the two heads of state have laid a solid foundation for the high-quality development of Uzbekistan-China relations. The Uzbek Embassy in China speaks highly of the CPAFFC's positive role over the years in consolidating the social and public support for Uzbekistan-China relations. It stands ready to work with the CPAFFC to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, advance Uzbekistan-China subnational cooperation, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people friendship, and continuously add new significance to the All-Weather Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the New Era between Uzbekistan and China.

The two sides also engaged in a thorough discussion on cooperation programs for 2026. Director-General Hao Zhongwei and Deputy Director-General Chen Lei of the Department of European and Asian Affairs of the CPAFFC, and Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China Saidkamol Agzamkhodjaev attended the meeting.
