On June,17th, 2014, Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft Corporation, visited Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). He held a lecture titled "Invent for the poor", and all seats were occupied.
President Li Xiaolin hosted the lecture. Mr. Bill Gates, wearing a red T-shirt, shared his own experiences on charity work with smile and confidence. He also appealed to the society to focus on the problems of the global, especially African children’s illness. He devoutly hoped personages of various circles devote themselves to the cause of charity and aid the helpless people. This captive lecture won him the warm applause of the audience.
After the lecture, Mr. Bill Gates answered the questions of the audience. He emphasized that CPAFFC played an important role in the world for friendship, love and mutual assistance. He also talked about that CPAFFC should make use of the advantages of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development in order to further help the people in need.
