From December 3 to December 4, 2025, President Yang Wanming of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) visited Anhui for investigation into people-to-people exchanges and international friendship city initiatives. During his visit, he met with Liang Yanshun, Secretary of the CPC Anhui Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial People's Congress; Luo Yunfeng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hefei Municipal Committee and Mayor of Hefei; and Zhang Junyi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Anqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Anqing. President Yang also visited several foreign-related enterprises and cultural institutions, including the Flying Tiger Memorial Hall in Zhanghu Town, Volkswagen (Anhui) Automotive Co., Ltd., Anhui Xmax New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and the Zaifen Huangmei Opera Inheritance Institute, and held discussions with relevant departments from Anhui Province, Hefei City, and Anqing City.

Officials from Anhui Province and local cities shared their approaches and successful cases of integrating resources from various sectors to promote people-to-people exchanges and cooperation with international friendship cities. They expressed their anticipation of expanding channels for international exchanges, strengthening the network of international friendship city cooperation, and telling the story of Anhui's contributions to China's development to the world, with the guidance and support of the CPAFFC.

President Yang Wanming congratulated Anhui on its recent achievements in promoting industrial transformation and high-quality development through technological innovation, in line with the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speeches during his inspection of Anhui. He emphasized that the CPAFFC, guided by Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, particularly Xi Jinping's Thought on Diplomacy, will continue to implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and support Anhui in leveraging its local advantages in science and technology innovation and culture. Furthermore, the CPAFFC will focus on expanding exchange channels, enriching cooperation, and optimizing platforms and mechanisms to advance high-quality people-to-people exchanges and international friendship city work, thereby better serving China's overall diplomacy and supporting local economic and social development.
